Friedrich Burgmüller

Johann Friedrich Franz Burgmüller (1806-1874) is sometimes confused with composers Francois Burgmüller (1847-1891), Franz Burgmüller (1806–1874), Ferdinand Burgmüller (1842-1877), and/or his little brother Norbert Burgmüller (1810-1836). Or Al Burgmüller, the talentless buffoon who would frequently and drunkenly crash the Burgmüller’s fancy parties and ask to sing.* There is no known public domain photo of Herr Burgmüller for me to legally include in the upper left hand corner of this post. Here is what an artist thought he looked like. He wrote cool stuff. Lived in Paris. That’s pretty much all we know.
